TheCall—a Day of Fasting and Prayer—Comes to Las Vegas, October 20th

"Let it be known, on October 20, 2007 the people of Las Vegas believed God and declared a fast even from the greatest to the least."
Aimee Herd (October 19, 2007)
(Las Vegas, NV)—Marion Hall and her family, who are part of the preparation-in-prayer before each event by TheCall, have been leading prayer over the Las Vegas area as they ready for this weekend's event.
Marion explained what TheCall is all about: "TheCall is: Fasting and Prayer—not performance—but a gathering to humbly cry out to the Lord. It's a nameless, faceless army...a trumpet blast awakening the nation."
Will You Answer TheCall? "On Thursday, Rod went down to the 'Las Vegas Strip' to walk and pray the boulevards, crowded with vacationing families and littered with prostitute calling cards. Last night (Friday) we prayed again at a local church that has opened their doors for nightly prayer before TheCall. It's usually us and a few others. Chauntelle plays the guitar and sings, Levi plays the djembe, Kurt and the rest of us pray.
The following proclamation was drafted by church leaders in Las Vegas.
Let it be known, on October 20, 2007, the people of Las Vegas believed God and declared a fast even from the greatest to the least.
Let it be published throughout the land that every person humble themselves, calling urgently upon God. Let them give up their evil ways, their violence and thefts. We have invited the world to commit adultery, while we promised our silence. We have replaced conviction with compromise; comfort and convenience in place of the counsel of God.
So this day we turn our hearts back to God. We choose blessings instead of curses, so our children may live and love the Lord. We shall listen to His voice, hold fast to Him and keep His commands in the Book of the Law.
Hear from Heaven and forgive our sins. Have mercy and compassion upon our city. Lift up the needy, wounded and homeless. Deliver those bound with addiction and set free the captives of prostitution.
Answer us, O God. Shake the very ground beneath us for You are sovereign. Let every being revere the Lord Almighty.
We are making a binding agreement in writing, signed by our leaders, pastors, priests, parents and youth.

Marion Hall and her family have been ministering with TheCall for about 2 ½ years. I asked her why it is that young Believers seem so drawn to the movement.
"We ministered one time at a punk rock concert. It was crazy, I don't even know if most of them were saved but they said, 'Come to this secular punk rock gathering, because you guys are just as radical. They loved it because it was something so radical and out there.
"The young people hear Lou, and there's something that stirs deep down within that says, 'Yeah—we can do this, we can overcome. If we call on the name of the Lord, God can move His strong arm and do what He's said He will do.' Their faith is stirred, and the young guys just love it."
Talk about the Summer of Love Tour which you were recently involved with, what was that?
"Well, 40-years-ago, in San Francisco, it was the 'Summer of Love,' and this was redeeming that...it was a turning back and rejoining of the generations. We brought about 200 young people with us, throughout the country, and did outdoor concerts. We had a huge outdoor stage, with sound system and lights. We would just worship the Lord, and pray during the day.
"When we got to California though, there was an increase of the anointing—like this was the place where we were supposed to minister. We set up in Golden Gate Park, and did a drum circle for a couple of days. You definitely felt something break through in the heavenlies. In the atmosphere over the park, you could feel that God was being glorified."
Can you share an experience of someone who maybe was not saved, but who attended the event there at Golden Gate Park, and how it affected them?
"There are a lot of individual testimonies of people wondering what it was they were feeling (the presence of God), and how that touched them....
"Once, in Arizona, we were set up in the desert, it was 5 minutes to seven, and coming over the horizon was a huge black wall of rain getting ready to come through. We were there with a $150,000 sound system, lights, and stage. There were several people there whose hair was standing straight up. The locals told us the air was charged with electricity, this is not good. So, Chuck gets up and tells us 'we have 5 minutes before we would have to evacuate. Either we pray, and the storm stops, or we get in buses and evacuate.' Everybody turned around, we put our hands up against that storm, and we prayed. The storm literally dissipated before our eyes! A lot of the people there were very impacted by that."

We need to keep Vegas in prayer on the 20th. (sin City)

I went in for testings today. I had blood work done, then a MRA.. That was about the worse, and I am a big baby anyway.... Thy shoot something in your veins while you have this test.. And in the tunnel you go, with a helmet over your head. I felt like an astronaunt.. I don't like that cooped up feeling... I was so glad with it was all over..
I met my new doctor yesterday. He is a good doctor, and very complete...  and a very handsome man. ha
He is from India....He is more serious than the other doctor I had. Dr. Gonzaga was a riot... And he will soon be retiring.. I did get a glimpse of him yesterday, although he didn't see me, but he has aged since I have seen him last...
You have a great evening and a wonderful week-end.

     Take care & God bless
