" May the God of hope fill you with
All joy and peace as you trust in Him,
So that you may overflow with hope by
The power of the Holy Spirit"
ROMANS 15:13
We live in a culture that is busy with activities and offers more options than we could ever have time for. We sometimes run on empty more than full, much less overflowing. Yet Paul's prayer for the believers in Rome was that their souls would be so full of joy, peace and trust that they would overflow with hope. This was to happen not by their own strength or the sheer force of their wills, but " by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Would you like to overflow with hope? Would you like to be a person whose joy seems to light up every room, whose peace can be felt in even the tensest situations? Then by the power of the Holy Spirit, praise God!! It's no accident that in this passage Paul quotes from the Old Testament passages about praising God, singing hymns to His name, and rejoicing! That's how we find hope in God. Through praise and worship.
When we connect to God and honor His presence in our lives, and when we praise Him for His character and evidences of His works in us, we have so much of Him in us that He spills over.
God 's gifts in us become our gifts to those around us. That's when we overflow with the joy, peace, and hope that comes only from God.
