Notice what God said to the sinful nations: "Stand..... Look....ask. ....walk. ....." In other words, "Look for the right way to go and then follow it." and the reward for doing that meets everyone's deepest longing---and you will find rest for your souls." unfortunately, the response of far to many nations to God is , "We will not walk in it "

The consequence for any nation that forsakes God  and His ways is serious. Even though you and I and millions of other believers have not forsaken God and His ways, many others in our nation have. But God gives us a way to respond to His warnings of judgement by confessing the sins of our nation before Him and asking Him to heal our land: if my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land"

He didn't say that all people in a nation must be perfect in their heart and actions in order to receive His blessings. If  that were the case, there would never be a nation that was blessed. We can, however, "stand in the gap" and be the one person willing to pray on behalf of our unrepentant nation, and maybe others will follow our example.
