“He’s Back” and “He’s Back”

Have you ever said to yourself, “I’ll be back” or “I shall return”?

”You are from God and have overcome…for greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world.” – 1 John 4:4

Have you ever found yourself caught with “both hands in the cookie jar?”

Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, found himself in this unpleasant situation.  He stole money and possessions from Naaman for selfish gain, and was caught red handed.  Elisha then pronounced swift judgment on Gehazi, reducing him to a life of pain, isolation, and hopelessness.

How many times in life do we find ourselves in Gehazi’s situation?  We’ve blown it and are faced with hopelessness and private pain.  Our future appears to be one of loneliness and heartache.  It is during these times that hope is hard to find, and the thought of a comeback is too good to be true.”

Gehazi suddenly drops off the scene.  And then suddenly, three chapters later, Gehazi is back!  As quickly as he disappeared, he returned!  And not only did he return, but in a greater state than before!  The Bible tells us that Gehazi was now in the king’s court and had royal status!  The king confided in Gehazi!

“How could this happen,” we might ask.  “Wasn’t he banished to a life of incurable leprosy?”  Yes, according to Levitical law and prophetic decree he was, but with God, “It ain’t over till it’s over!”

God loves to take the impossible and make it the possible.  He loves to take individuals who have fallen, brush them off, clean them up, and restore them!  He wants to do that with you and me.

I’m sure Gehazi said to himself, “I’ll be back.”  And sure enough, he was!  God is not finished with you.  He wants to reach down and restore you “back”.  It is His specialization, and He has been binding up the broken hearted for years!

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines ... yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3:17-18

The very things Habakkuk had complained about—the fig tree wasn't blossoming, no fruit, no herd in the stalls—were still not there, and yet he was rejoicing. He wasn't complaining now. What changed his mind?

There were three things that consoled him. The first was that he could see that God was what he saw: "The Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it" (Hab. 2:2, KJV). What a relief to know that God sees!

The second thing that consoled Habakkuk was the knowledge that though full intervention might not come as soon as he wanted—"Though it tarry, wait for it" (v. 3, KJV)—it would nevertheless definitely come. There was a plan; there was a time schedule. Maybe it's a little longer that you want it to be, but wait for it; it will come.

The third thing that consoled Habakkuk was the understanding that God imputes righteousness to the man or woman who lives by God's faithfulness. When we say, "God, I don't understand it. I don't know why You have let me wait this long. I don't know why You haven't stepped in sooner. But I am trusting you," we are cleansed in that moment and given rest of soul. He says, "I like it when you trust Me that way."

Are you looking for the vine to blossom before you can rejoice? Are you waiting for the raise in pay? Or for that answered prayer? Are you waiting for everything to fit in before you start praising the Lord? If that is so, then turn in your badge now and give up. As Proverbs 24:10 says, "If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small" (KJV).

Like Habakkuk, you will be given grace to trace the rainbow through the rain.

And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gideon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae, of David also-.-.-.-Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.-.-.-.- Hebrews 11:32-33

Sometimes when we are confronted by the cares of the world, we find ourselves believing in a God who is different from the God of the Bible. Not believing God is who He says He is probably accounts for most of the uncertainty and defeat in our lives.

Believe in Him! The God of the Bible always hears and answers your prayers. The God of the Bible does not cower in the presence of the devil and will never leave you nor forsake you. The God of the Bible cannot fail.

He is the God of battles, the Lord of Hosts, and the God of victory. He will never surrender in the face of adversity because the war is over and He has emerged victorious! Just believe in Him and the battle is already won!

Never consider defeat when He is in the plan and the battle. Never allow doubt to distort His Word or truth. Above the roar of the battle, only one voice rings out the truth—the voice of God. Listen to His still, small voice whispering His truth in your heart.

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. 1 John 5:14

I do not know who this God is who does not answer prayer. I cannot find Him in my Bible! The Bible describes a God who says, "Ask and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" (Luke 11:9).

You have an adversary, and the answer to your prayers may have to withstand a battle before it breaks through. Daniel prayed for twenty-one days before an angel appeared to deliver his answer. When the angel arrived, he informed Daniel of the battle he encountered with the adversary along the way—but he prevailed because of Daniel's constant, confident prayer (Daniel 10:12-13).

Too often we stop praying just as our answer is ready to be delivered. Remember, your darkest hour and greatest opposition will come at the point of your breakthrough. Persevere in prayer. Be confident that God hears, and He will answer.

Remember that prayer is a dialogue, not a monologue of you talking at God. Spend as much time listening as talking. Take time to hear His answer. Be still and know what God is speaking into Your life by His Spirit.

Jesus, help me to listen to Your voice. Prepare
my heart to receive and act upon Your
answers to my prayers. Amen.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4
Are you walking through a valley? As you walk, Jesus is walking alongside you, ready to pick you up if you should stumble. He is holding your hand and talking with the Father about your situation.
He is constantly presenting you to the Father. This is His only purpose in heaven. He calls your name before the throne, and He points to the mercy seat covered by His precious blood.
Today is no surprise to God. Tomorrow's headlines will not surprise Him either! He knows tomorrow better than you know yesterday. He has gone before you and prepared the way. You never walk alone. He is Jehovah- Jireh, the God who provides your need before you have a need.
If He is leading and you are following, you have nothing to fear. In fact, tomorrow in Christ is filled with possibilities, hope, and new beginnings.

Thank You, Jesus, for going ahead of me and securing
my tomorrows. So today, I will rest in You—setting
aside every fear, anxiety, and worry. Amen.

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Romans 8:34

Jesus announced to Peter: "Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat" (Luke 22:31), and then added these words of comfort: "but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not" (v. 32).

Not after Satan had done his worst but before Satan ever laid a hand on Peter, Jesus said, "I have prayed for you." He did not tell Peter he should start praying for himself. When you are a blood-bought child of God and you're headed for the last inning with all the bases loaded, before Satan can hurl the ball to take you out, Jesus calls the play and declares you are, "Safe!"

What prayer of the Son has the Father not heard? There is no such prayer. Wherever you are and whatever situation you are in, Jesus Christ is praying for you. And if Jesus is praying for you, you cannot fail.

Intercede for me, Lord Jesus. Take my every need to the
Father. Search and know me. Expose my sin and bring
me to repentance. Use my weaknesses
for Your glory. Amen.

Perhaps you did not know it
But your are a very special person.
In the sight of God,
God fully understands
The trials of your life.

He knows full well
The hurts that you have had.
Your life is very precious to Him
And every hurt of yours
Is of concern to Him.

God's love and care for you
Are so real and strong
That he sent His only Son
Into this broken world
To share your deepest hurts
And restore your soul.

What more could He have done
To show how much he cares?
Perhaps he has permitted
Some of the hurts to enter your life
So that you will turn to Him
And learn just how much
He loves you!

For  great is your love.
Higher than the heavens;
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Psalms 108:4

This is how we know what love is:
Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
1 John 3;16

Greater love has no one than this,
that he lay down His life for his friends
John 15:13

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
For God so loved the world that he gave his
one and only son, that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

How great is the love the Father has lavished
on us, that we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are! The reason the world
does not know us is that it did not know him.
1 John 3:1

Those who sow in tears will reap with... joy.

Friends can hold your hand and cheer you along, but shepherding a God-given dream to fulfilment always involves watering it with your own tears. Neither fellowship nor friendship can lower the price of personal sacrifice required. That's the not-so-good news. However, the better-than-great news is - there will be a harvest! "Those who sow in tears will reap with… joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with… joy, carrying sheaves with him" (Psalm 126:5-6 NIV). But you must recognise what season you're in. There's:

1) A time for weeping. This is not an excuse for passivity, or a posture of weakness that reduces you to tears because life's not fair and things are tough. Nehemiah was moved to tears over Jerusalem's ruins. Then he sought God, developed a plan, put together a team and rebuilt the city. What moves you? What do you feel passionate about?

2) A time for reaping. Everything in life has a season and a reason (Ecclesiastes 3:1-4). Those who understand the reason and maximise the season are "like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season… (Psalm 1:3 NIV). Note the words, 'in season.' Fruit won't grow before its time. That's why you must discern your life's changing seasons and adjust to them. Even restaurant menus remind us that certain dishes are only available in season. You need to know when it's time to stop weeping and start reaping, otherwise you'll miss your harvest. Tears are for the sower, joy is for the reaper. So when your season changes, harvest your fields with joy! You've paid your dues; now it's time to enjoy what God has promised you.

Luke records: "There met Him ten… lepers… they lifted up their voices and said, 'Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!'… He said to them, 'Go, show yourselves to the priests.' And… as they went, they were cleansed" (Luke 17:12-14 NKJV). Leprosy is a slow, painful death. First it attacks nerves in the hands, feet and face making them insensitive and susceptible to damage. Untreated leprosy ultimately results in disability including ulcers, physical deformities and damaged internal organs. Every day you lost a little more of yourself. Here are five helpful insights from this story:

1) If you feel like you're 'losing yourself,' turn to Jesus. He can restore what you've lost and give you back your peace and joy.

2) 'Lift up your voice.' Away with dignity and decorum! Desperate people do desperate things. God promises: 'You will… find me when you seek me with all your heart' (Jeremiah 29:13 NIV).

3) Whatever He tells you - do it. Don't lay down conditions to God. And don't seek an identical experience to somebody else. Jesus told the ten lepers, 'Go, show yourselves to the priests.' Why didn't He just speak to them or touch them like He did others? Don't question, obey! Faith doesn't demand explanations.

4) Take a step of faith. Luke records, "As they went, they were cleansed" (v14). You've got to walk it out; each step brings you one step closer. But nothing happens till you take that first step of faith.

5) Start praising God! Only one of the ten lepers returned to give thanks, and Jesus noticed it. You can go to God with confidence for your next answer, when you know you remembered to give Him thanks for your last one.

AUGUST 31, 2009

  "Giving too much"

"Father thank you and Praise you today for enlightening us on how to love ourselves as you love yourself........I thank you and praise you that when you made the world and human beings you said "it is good".....and I do also praise you and thank you that satan is defeated and you have said "Let there Be light' In our Spirit and  in our Souls, Hearts, Minds and Bodies and so we praise you Lord that we would all recognize you Light and Walk in it more and more from this day forward, In Jesus' name, Amen"

I can almost remember the first time I ever saw the scripture "if someone wants you to go one mile, go with them two, and if they want your tunic, give them your cloak as well". this of course is when Jesus spoke as he first started ministering to the multitudes. I so wanted to be like Jesus! "With all my heart" I did and still do!' .......So you know I read this and then "the fun began"

Of course= the devil heard what I prayed also (little monster) and for years has sent all kinds of things my way to try and "beat me up" with this passage of scripture and others! You know he is such a moron, doesn't he know all things work for the Good for those who love the Lord and Fear His Name? Anyway on with my story............

So Jesus learned obedience by the things he suffered and he even said we are "not better than him" and we know that he is our Master! I have walked hundreds of miles with someone because of that scripture and given away a lot more than a tunic and coat! Hence the name "Sisterzeal" !!! ........Well then satan, the crafty little monster, came along and convinced me at times that because of this I now have to "get in God's face" and demand back from him "all I have given" a hundred fold (or whatever) because some preached preached that "dontcha know"........and they used the word to do it and they sounded all lofty and such. Now........God does want to bless his people and there is a harvest (dont' get me wrong) but this idea that I have given according to your Word Father and now "you have to do such and such" takes away God's Sovreignty and totally "wrecks" our relationship with him! (Which is what the devil was after in the first place, Amen?). so then "you see" maybe a little bit why we have so many different "church doctrines out there?" (who seem to all conflict with one another?). "Cause, some are real strict like "well I just take a vow of poverty and the life of serving God is having nothing nothing at all) WRONG! .......and then there is "give it all away honey it's a big fat seed and you'll get RICH NOW" and have a million dollars like this preacher does" uh....WRONG!!! oh I know and you "sowed a seed" to somewhere and now your family member is "gauranteed to get saved" (Wrong again)..........

As a dear friend recently reminded me by the Spirit of the Lord if your yoke is no longer "easy" and your burden" light" then something is wrong! If you are in an extreme to the point where you cannot even afford to take a little bit of time for "yourself and the Lord" well "God did not do that to you". "What do you mean?" "I am working SO HARD HERE" doing "everything God told me to do".......(really?).............hmm ........See all the words of God line up with and relate to "all the words of God" so you cannot leave some out! Do I honestly care right now how many "tunics' I have given away and whether I reaped 1000 more? (not really) .....I am very thankful for the Grace of God however, that he never gives up on me and continues to teach me every day even when I "get things wrong". You know, those disciples knew something when they said "if a man doesn't work he doesn't eat" They also knew that the Lord 'discipines' and says "Repent!".

Hey....if you ever tried to take a shortcut it's okay "God forgives you" and he knows your nature too (and took that all into consideration when he took you on) However, I continue to Press on and to say "Church of Jesus Christ" Let's "continue to Learn" from the Holy Spirit and "Grow up" in Him as it says in Ephesians 4..........(Amen) And that's our Primary Mission.......all the rest "falls into line" if we take care of our Salvation and work it all out with Him....
